What is Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)?
As an independent UK agency, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is responsible for promoting openness in government information and protecting personal data. The ICO says on its website that it does this "through advocating good practise, ruling on eligible complaints, informing individuals and organisations and taking appropriate action where the law is broken."
